In the Orthodox part we easily found the grave of Sergei Diaghilev - the founder of the Ballets Russes,

and a few steps away two graves put side by side, one of Igor Stravinsky, the other of Vera Stravinsky.

And once again - many of the graves there were devastated. Either by time or by some people. I think the first option is right but even though, it's sad, very sad that there lived some people in the past who were dear to other people, who had done something important in their lives, who meant something and now... it's gone. Nobody remembers them and even if there was somebody curious enough to find out who the person in this very grave was, he wouldn't be able to do it as the inscriptions are all withered... Sad...

So we moved on to the protestant part to have a look at the grave of Ezra Pound - a famous American poet.

Well, it's a mystery to us what has happened to the grave. We couldn't find it although we had a close look at all the graves in that part of the cimitero - and it's not big at all! As if to make us feel better, we found the grave of Joseph Brodsky instead.

It was something more than a consolation prize though. It was heart-warming to see that he is remembered of.

The grave was virtually covered with flowers. But there were also other graves...
